A customer was in my store today and asked what she and her family should do for the rest of their stay here in Hermosa Beach.

I’m going to assume that you have already visited my store  so “Shopping at Sol Baby!” has been kept off the number one spot on this list.

10. Have breakfast at Martha’s or Scotty’s. (the Crab Benedict at either is scrumptious).

9.  Sit outside and read with an Iced Chai at Java Man.

8.  Get your picture taken with Tim Kelly.

7.  Walk the Pier.

6. Stop on the Strand 100 yards north of the Pier to watch world class Volleyball players practice.

5. Hit the Farmer’s Market on Valley and 11th (only on Fridays).

4. Take your little groms to the Hermosa Beach Skate Park.

3.  Take a skate or rent a bike (preferably tandem) for a relaxing cruise on the Strand. Or just walk.

2.  See Jay Leno at the Comedy & Magic Club on Sunday nights.

It’s Summertime!

Today was our party to celebrate the grand opening of our new location. 124 Pier Avenue in beautiful Hermosa Beach, California.

Local singer/songwriter Skaie Knox played songs from her new album “Big Bug Lunch.” She was great!

From Skaie’s website:

Suitable for Parents!” “Big Bug Lunch!” is not only a kid’s book, but it includes music which is characterized as a pop-rock fun and melodic cd filled with stories and sound images to delight kids of all ages! Each song is a sort of “mini soundtrack” taking you to delightful and happy places that’ll leave you smiling and uplifted!

The kids followed along with the book as Skaie sang and played guitar!

We had the “official” grand opening of our store tonight. It was a great evening of friends and neighbors. The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce came down to cut the ribbon and wish us well. Councilmember Michael Keegan stopped by to say hi as well.

A great evening of meeting our neighbors and city officials!

And a special thanks to Assembly Member Ted Lieu for presenting Sol Baby with an entrepreneurial recognition award. Very Cool!

Sol Baby got a little love in the Beach Reporter (Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beach’s newspaper) this past week with some of our fun summer styles featured in their Beach Cities Fashion issue. Whoo hoo!

Page 34 has a ‘Beach Baby’ section. Classic styles like the One Love Bob Marley onesie and Googoo tee, along with some new offerings like the Oliver fedora and paisley Kalencom diaper bag are highlighted in this editorial.
